India’s National Security Adviser Ajit Doval is visiting China for talks with Chinese officials, with discussions expected to focus on the long-running border dispute and efforts to stabilize relations between the two Asian powers.
Doval is expected to meet Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi for the latest round of the Special Representatives’ talks on the India-China boundary question. The dialogue comes as both countries continue efforts to manage tensions along their disputed Himalayan border.
The talks are also taking place amid gradual efforts by New Delhi and Beijing to improve bilateral relations following years of heightened tensions after the deadly 2020 border clash in eastern Ladakh.
Border security, disengagement, maintaining peace along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), and broader bilateral relations are expected to remain key issues during the discussions.
The visit could provide an opportunity for India and China to address unresolved border concerns while exploring ways to restore greater stability and diplomatic engagement between the two countries.
