Karachi: Pakistan Navy has conducted a major counter-narcotics operation in the Arabian Sea, seizing more than 2,800 kilograms of narcotics reportedly valued at approximately $750 million in the international market.
The operation was carried out by PNS Hunain and PNS Yarmook as part of maritime security operations. During an operation against a suspected fishing vessel, the naval ships seized more than 2,800 kilograms of narcotics.
Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf commended the crews of both vessels for the successful operation and their professional performance.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also praised the Pakistan Navy for the seizure, congratulating the officers and personnel involved. He highlighted the Navy’s role in protecting Pakistan’s maritime interests and preventing illegal activities and smuggling through the sea.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi likewise commended the Pakistan Navy’s counter-narcotics operation and praised the professionalism and vigilance of the personnel involved.
Pakistan Navy said it remains committed to preventing illegal activities at sea, protecting national maritime interests and contributing to international maritime security.
