Government Keeps Petrol and Diesel Prices Unchanged for Two Days

Published:

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to keep petrol and high-speed diesel (HSD) prices unchanged for the next two days, providing temporary relief to consumers amid fluctuations in global oil markets.

According to an official notification, the existing prices of both petroleum products will remain in effect while authorities continue reviewing international crude oil prices and exchange rate movements. The short-term extension is aimed at allowing the government to complete its assessment before announcing the next pricing decision.

Officials said the move is intended to maintain market stability and avoid sudden changes in fuel prices. A revised pricing announcement is expected after the two-day period, following consultations with relevant ministries and the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

Fuel prices play a crucial role in Pakistan’s economy, directly affecting transportation costs, inflation, and the prices of essential goods. Consumers and businesses are closely watching the government’s next decision as global energy markets remain volatile
