US President Donald Trump held a key meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping at Beijing’s Great Hall of the People, where the two leaders discussed bilateral relations, global stability, and the expansion of trade cooperation between the two countries.
President Xi welcomed Trump and his delegation, saying he was pleased to meet the US president in Beijing. He stated that stable relations between China and the United States carry positive significance not only for both nations but for the entire world.
Xi added that China and the United States, as two major global powers, should work together to promote international peace and stability.
During the meeting, Trump thanked the Chinese leadership for the warm reception and described Xi Jinping as a great leader. He said his relationship with the Chinese president has always been strong and constructive.
Trump also stressed the importance of economic growth, saying the United States is interested in further expanding trade ties with China. He noted that members of his delegation, including leading business executives, are eager to strengthen commercial cooperation with Beijing.
