KARACHI: Pakistan Customs officials have reportedly seized 14 new iPhone 18 Pro Max smartphones and two bottles of liquor from a passenger at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi.
According to Customs officials, the passenger had arrived in Karachi from Hong Kong via Colombo on a SriLankan Airlines flight.
Officials said the passenger entered a public toilet after noticing heightened vigilance by Customs personnel. Due to his suspicious behaviour, a Customs team searched the passenger as well as the public toilet.
During the search, 14 iPhone 18 Pro Max smartphones were allegedly found hidden underneath a toilet commode. Two bottles of liquor were also recovered from the passenger’s luggage, according to Customs officials.
The passenger reportedly admitted that he had temporarily hidden the mobile phones inside the toilet and intended to retrieve them later.
Customs officials said the recovered mobile phones and liquor bottles were seized under the Customs Act. The total estimated value of the seized items was approximately Rs50 million, according to officials.
