KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah has rejected the possibility of dividing Sindh, saying the province’s boundaries cannot be changed without following the constitutional process and obtaining the required consent.
Speaking at Mazar-e-Quaid, Murad Shah said any change to provincial boundaries requires approval by a two-thirds majority of the concerned provincial assembly. He also referred to resolutions passed by the Sindh Assembly opposing the division of the province.
On the Mir Raza case, the chief minister rejected allegations of government interference in the investigation and said his administration was committed to ensuring justice. He said a judicial commission had been formed to independently examine the matter.
Murad Shah also called for national unity, constitutional supremacy and democratic values, urging political and other differences to be resolved through dialogue and constitutional means.
