ISLAMABAD: First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari has called for stronger measures to protect children from violence, abuse, exploitation and online harm, stressing that every child has the fundamental right to safety at home, in schools, in society and in the digital world.
In a statement, she said violence, abuse, exploitation and neglect of children cannot be ignored, and stressed that prevention must begin before tragedy occurs.
She called for informed parents, safer schools, trained teachers and stronger child-protection institutions. She also urged the government, law-enforcement agencies, educational institutions, civil society, religious and community leaders, and the media to make child protection a shared national responsibility.
