KARACHI: The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Immigration has offloaded a passenger at Jinnah International Airport, Karachi, after allegedly discovering a fake Saudi visit visa during immigration clearance.
According to an FIA spokesperson, the passenger, identified as Ahmed Ali, was attempting to travel to Saudi Arabia on a Pakistani passport when officials found discrepancies in his travel documents and referred him for further examination.
During detailed scrutiny, authorities found that the Saudi paper visa was allegedly forged. The UAE residence visa number printed on the document reportedly matched the passenger’s Pakistani CNIC number, while the visa’s expiry date also corresponded with the expiry date of the CNIC. Officials further stated that the Saudi visa number did not match the standard format.
Verification through the Integrated Border Management System (IBMS) reportedly found no travel record or evidence of a valid UAE residence visa. The passenger claimed he had obtained the visa through an agent in the UAE but refused to provide details about the agent.
The FIA said the passenger was offloaded from the flight based on the available evidence and has been handed over to the relevant authorities for further investigation into a suspected fake travel document network.
