The Sindh government has declared a public holiday across the province on Wednesday, July 29, to mark the annual Urs of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai, the renowned Sufi saint, poet, and philosopher.
According to an official notification issued by the Sindh Information Department, the holiday will apply to all provincial government offices, autonomous and semi-autonomous bodies, corporations, and local councils operating under the administrative control of the Sindh government. However, essential services will continue to function as usual.
Thousands of devotees from across Pakistan are expected to visit the shrine of Shah Abdul Latif Bhittai in Bhit Shah to participate in Urs celebrations, which include special prayers, devotional music, and cultural and literary events honoring the revered Sufi poet.
