Food, Fury and Supporters Keep India’s Youth-Led Protest Alive

Published:

NEW DELHI: A youth-led protest movement in India’s capital continues to gather momentum as supporters from across the country and overseas keep demonstrators supplied with food, water, medical aid, and other essentials despite a recent police crackdown.

The movement, largely driven by students and young professionals, began over anger surrounding repeated exam paper leaks and demands for the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Protesters have remained camped at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar, with food delivery riders, volunteers, and donors helping sustain the demonstrations around the clock.

Volunteer doctors and students have also established temporary medical camps to treat injured protesters. Organizers say the movement has attracted support from Indians living abroad, who are contributing funds and supplies while expressing solidarity through social media.

Despite clashes with police and growing political tensions, protesters insist they will continue their campaign until their demands for education reforms and accountability are addressed. The demonstrations have become one of the largest youth-led protest movements seen in India in recent years.
