Daily Petroleum Prices Revised: Petrol Drops Slightly, Diesel Becomes Costlier

Published:

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has announced a fresh revision in Pakistan’s daily petroleum prices under the country’s new fuel pricing mechanism. The latest update reduces the price of petrol by 35 paisas per litre, while high-speed diesel (HSD) has increased by Rs5.71 per litre. Kerosene has also become costlier, rising by Rs5.93 per litre.

The daily pricing system, introduced by the federal government, adjusts fuel prices based on the seven-day average of international oil prices and market trends. The mechanism is designed to ensure greater transparency and allow domestic fuel prices to reflect global market fluctuations more quickly.

Motorists and transporters are expected to feel the impact of the higher diesel price, while the slight reduction in petrol offers only limited relief to consumers.
