PSX Rallies as Falling Oil Prices Lift Investor Sentiment on U.S.-Iran Mediation Hopes

Published:

Pakistan’s stock market posted strong gains on Tuesday as easing global oil prices and growing optimism over possible U.S.-Iran mediation boosted investor confidence.

The benchmark KSE-100 Index advanced during the trading session, with investors returning to energy-sensitive and blue-chip stocks after crude oil prices declined amid reports of renewed diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions between Washington and Tehran.

Analysts said lower oil prices could ease inflationary pressures, reduce Pakistan’s import bill, and improve the country’s external account, creating a more favorable outlook for the economy and listed companies. Banking, cement, and automobile stocks were among the sectors benefiting from the improved market sentiment.

Global markets also rebounded as investors welcomed signs of potential diplomatic progress despite ongoing military tensions in the Middle East. Market participants, however, remain cautious, noting that any deterioration in the regional security situation could quickly reverse recent gains.
