The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has auctioned a 527 kanal and 10 marla property belonging to Bahria Town in Murree as part of efforts to recover outstanding tax liabilities amounting to Rs. 26 billion.
The property, located in Mauza Kathar Sharqi on Angori Road, was sold through a fresh auction conducted under the Income Tax Ordinance, 2001. According to reports, a Pakistani businessman emerged as the highest successful bidder after an earlier auction process did not conclude successfully.
Sources said the total acquisition cost, including applicable taxes and charges, was approximately Rs. 825 million. During the auction, the FBR reserved the right to accept or reject any bid in accordance with the applicable legal framework.
