United Nations: Pakistan has raised allegations of Indian support for militant groups, including the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), at the United Nations.
Pakistan’s Counsellor at the UN, Muhammad Jawad Ajmal, made the allegations while exercising Islamabad’s right of reply to remarks by the Indian representative.
According to Pakistan’s statement, India is allegedly providing material and logistical support to these groups through networks operating from Afghanistan. Ajmal also alleged that humanitarian assistance being provided to Afghanistan was being used as a cover for activities that could facilitate attacks against Pakistan.
The Pakistani diplomat reiterated Islamabad’s concerns over what it described as external support for militant groups operating against Pakistan. The allegations were made during the UN proceedings and represent Pakistan’s position on the issue.
India has previously rejected similar allegations of supporting militant groups against Pakistan. The claims in this latest statement have not been independently verified.
