LAHORE: An FIR has been registered against 11 police officials, including the SHO of Sarwar Road Police Station, over an alleged unauthorized raid on the residence of Attorney General for Pakistan Mansoor Awan.

According to the complaint, the police team entered the house by climbing over the gate while only household staff were present. The complainant alleged that police officials harassed employees, damaged flower pots outside the residence, and took away the CCTV recording system.

Police officials later returned the DVR after allegedly deleting the CCTV footage. Authorities said the police had received information about suspected criminals in a neighboring house but mistakenly entered the Attorney General’s residence during the operation.

The FIR states that the officers exceeded their legal authority during the raid. The accused officials have been charge-sheeted, while the SHO has reportedly obtained interim bail from a local court.

The incident comes amid growing scrutiny of police procedures following other recent controversies involving law enforcement operations.
