KARACHI, September 19, 2026: The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Sindh, in coordination with a federal intelligence agency, conducted an intelligence-based operation in Karachi’s Manghopir area, resulting in the deaths of two suspected militants, according to a CTD spokesperson.
The operation was carried out in Kacha Road, Ghazi Goth, Manghopir, on the basis of intelligence information regarding the presence of suspected militants. According to the CTD spokesperson, security personnel launched the operation to arrest the suspects.
During the operation, an exchange of fire took place between the security personnel and the suspected militants, resulting in the deaths of two suspects, the spokesperson said.
Suspects Allegedly Linked to Fitna al-Hindustan
According to the CTD, the two deceased suspects were allegedly associated with Fitna al-Hindustan and were reportedly involved in planning terrorist activities in Karachi.
The spokesperson said the suspects were allegedly engaged in preparations for carrying out terrorist activities in the city. However, their identities have not yet been confirmed, and the identification process is currently underway.
Weapons Recovered
The CTD spokesperson said security personnel recovered several items from the scene following the operation.
The recovered items included:
- One Kalashnikov
- One 9mm pistol
- One motorcycle
The weapons and other evidence have been taken into official custody and will be examined as part of the ongoing investigation.
Investigation Into Possible Network Underway
Authorities are also investigating whether the deceased suspects were connected with other individuals operating in Karachi.
According to the CTD, investigations are underway to identify the suspects’ possible associates, facilitators and wider network in the city.
Officials are also examining the recovered weapons and other evidence to gather further information about the activities and connections of the suspects.
CTD Says Intelligence-Based Operations Will Continue
The CTD spokesperson said intelligence-based operations against suspected militant networks would continue.
The department said all available resources are being utilized to protect the lives and property of citizens and to prevent terrorist activities in Karachi.
The latest operation is part of ongoing intelligence-based efforts by security agencies to identify and disrupt suspected militant networks operating in the city.
