Karachi, September 16, 2026: Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has directed authorities to accelerate construction work on the Yellow Line BRT depot and other components of the mass transit project.
The directives were issued during a meeting chaired by Sharjeel Inam Memon at the Transport Department. The meeting reviewed progress on various ongoing construction works under the Yellow Line BRT Karachi project.
The meeting was attended by Transport Secretary Asad Zamin, Sindh Mass Transit Authority (SMTA) Managing Director Behzad Memon, representatives of the World Bank, consultants and other relevant officials.
Construction Progress Reviewed
Officials briefed the meeting on the pace and progress of construction activities at different sections of the Yellow Line BRT project. Sharjeel Memon directed the relevant authorities to further accelerate construction and ensure that all available resources are utilized for timely completion.
He also instructed officials to expedite work on the Yellow Line depot and related infrastructure, stressing that completion of the depot and other essential facilities within the required timeframe is important for the project.
Jam Sadiq Bridge Work To Be Completed Soon
The senior minister also directed authorities to complete the remaining work on the second section of Jam Sadiq Bridge at the earliest.
He emphasized the need for effective coordination among all relevant departments, consultants and technical experts working on the project.
Daily Monitoring Of Yellow Line Project
Sharjeel Memon directed that the progress of the Yellow Line BRT project be monitored on a daily basis and that daily progress reports be submitted.
He further instructed officials to strengthen the capacity of the project team and ensure effective communication and coordination among all institutions, consultants and experts involved in the project.
Calling Yellow Line BRT an important mass transit project for Karachi, the senior minister directed the authorities to maintain momentum and take all necessary measures for timely completion.
