CHANGSHA, CHINA, September 19, 2026: Sindh Senior Minister for Transport, Mass Transit and Information Sharjeel Inam Memon held a meeting with Yang Haodong, Vice Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Hunan Provincial People’s Congress, during a high-level economic and trade event in Changsha, China.
The meeting focused on strengthening cooperation between Sindh and China’s Hunan Province in the areas of investment, trade, economic engagement and people-to-people relations.
A high-level delegation from the Government of Sindh participated in the Hunan International Friendship Cities Economic and Trade Exchange Event in Changsha. The delegation was led by Sharjeel Inam Memon and included Sindh Chief Minister’s Special Assistant Qasim Naveed Qamar and Sindh Enterprise Development Fund (SEDF) Chief Executive Officer Khizar Parvez.
Pakistan’s Consul General in Guangzhou Yasar Iqbal Butt and Trade and Investment Counsellor Muhammad Imran also attended the event alongside the Pakistani delegation.
The event brought together ministers and senior representatives from 28 countries. Hunan Governor Mao Weiming addressed the gathering and welcomed the participating international delegations.
During the event, emphasis was placed on developing strong and sustainable “Sister Province” relationships between Hunan and provinces from different countries to promote long-term cooperation.
Sharjeel Inam Memon also held meetings with Hunan provincial leadership and officials to explore opportunities for expanding cooperation between Sindh and Hunan across multiple sectors.
Discussions covered potential areas for increased investment, trade and economic collaboration, while both sides also highlighted the importance of identifying new fields of mutual cooperation.
Sharjeel Inam Memon stressed the importance of developing multifaceted relations between Sindh and Hunan and further strengthening people-to-people connections between the two regions.
The participation of the Sindh delegation in the Changsha event provided an opportunity to explore new avenues for economic engagement and strengthen institutional and commercial links between Sindh and Hunan.
