TEHRAN: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said there is “no military solution” to the escalating conflict in Yemen, urging all parties to return to dialogue and diplomacy. His remarks come amid rising tensions between Saudi-backed forces and Yemen’s Houthi movement, with fears that renewed fighting could further destabilize the region.
Araghchi warned that continued military action would only deepen the humanitarian crisis and increase regional insecurity. He stressed that negotiations remain the only sustainable path to peace and called on regional and international stakeholders to support political efforts instead of armed confrontation.
The comments follow a series of recent attacks and military build-ups that have heightened concerns about a wider conflict involving Yemen. Diplomatic efforts led by the United Nations and regional mediators continue, although progress has been limited as violence threatens to derail years of fragile ceasefire efforts.
