BANNU: Security forces have killed 24 militants during a series of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) in Bannu, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said on Thursday.
According to the military’s media wing, the operations were launched following intelligence reports about the presence of militants in the area. During the raids, security forces successfully engaged the militants, eliminating 24 of them.
ISPR said a cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the killed militants. The statement added that the militants were allegedly involved in multiple attacks against security forces as well as the killing of innocent civilians.
The military’s media wing said clearance operations are still underway to ensure that any remaining militants in the area are eliminated. It stressed that all those responsible for acts of terrorism would be brought to justice.
Reaffirming the country’s commitment to counterterrorism efforts, ISPR said the security forces and law enforcement agencies remain determined to continue operations under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision. The statement added that Pakistan is committed to eradicating externally supported militancy and restoring lasting peace and stability.
