KARACHI: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader Saeed Ghani has claimed that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has never secured victory in a general election without alleged electoral rigging.
Speaking to the media, Ghani criticized the ruling party’s electoral history and accused it of benefiting from unfair practices during previous elections. He said political parties should respect democratic values and ensure that future elections are conducted in a transparent and impartial manner.
The PPP leader maintained that public trust in the electoral process can only be strengthened through free, fair, and credible elections. He also emphasized the importance of constitutional institutions playing their role in upholding democratic principles.
The remarks come amid continued political exchanges between major parties over electoral reforms, governance, and preparations for future elections. PML-N has consistently rejected allegations of election rigging and maintains that its electoral victories reflect public support.
