Several areas of Karachi may experience a temporary water shortage after a power breakdown at the Dhabeji Pumping Station disrupted the city’s water supply system.
According to water utility officials, the unexpected outage affected the pumping of millions of gallons of water destined for different parts of the city. Technical teams were immediately dispatched to restore electricity and resume normal operations.
Residents in affected neighborhoods have been advised to use water carefully as restoration efforts continue. Authorities said supply could remain disrupted until pumping operations fully return to normal, after which water distribution is expected to stabilize gradually.
The Dhabeji Pumping Station is one of Karachi’s primary water supply facilities, and any interruption in its operations can impact large sections of the metropolitan area. Officials have assured the public that repair work is underway and updates will be provided as the situation develops.
