A Karachi court on Wednesday granted a three-day physical remand of alleged drug peddler Anmol alias “Pinky” in a case involving narcotics trafficking and illegal weapons possession, police said.
During the hearing, the investigating officer requested further physical remand, stating that authorities were probing the source of cocaine supply, tracing her financial resources, and conducting a Criminal Record Office (CRO) check.
According to DIG South, police have also collected details of previous cases registered against Pinky, who was arrested from Karachi’s Garden area and was allegedly absconding in at least 10 different cases.
Police claimed to have recovered weapons, cocaine, and other narcotics worth approximately Rs1.5 million from her possession. Investigators alleged that she was operating a drug supply network across Karachi.
In a separate development, investigators recovered several audio recordings from Pinky’s mobile phone. In one alleged voice note, she warned her contacts about the possibility of her arrest and suggested that her operations would continue through another individual.
“Hi friends! If you are listening to this message, it means either something has happened to me or I am no longer alive,” she can allegedly be heard saying in the recording.
“The contact person will be a man, my friend, who will handle the work. If something happens to me, the work will continue through the same number,” the message added.
Meanwhile, SSP South has been removed from the inquiry into matters that surfaced during Pinky’s court appearance and replaced by DIG West Irfan Baloch, according to an official notification.
DIG West has been directed to investigate all aspects of the case, including alleged protocol violations, and submit a report within three days. The Additional IG stated that strict action would be taken against any officers found guilty of negligence or misconduct.
