India’s Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has called for the immediate release of protesters detained during recent demonstrations, urging authorities to ensure that citizens’ democratic rights are respected.
Party leaders said peaceful protest is a fundamental democratic right and appealed to the concerned authorities to review the cases of those arrested. The BJP also called for dialogue to address the issues that led to the demonstrations.
The protests, which were held over ongoing political and public concerns, resulted in the detention of several participants. Authorities have maintained that the measures were taken to preserve public order and ensure security during the gatherings.
The situation remains under close observation, with further developments expected as officials review the cases of the detained protesters
