Islamabad: Pakistan and Canada have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, with both countries agreeing to expand cooperation in trade, investment, education, climate action, and regional security during Canadian Foreign Minister Anita Anand’s official visit to Islamabad.
The understanding was reached during high-level talks between Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and his Canadian counterpart, Anita Anand. The two leaders reviewed the current state of bilateral ties and explored new avenues to deepen cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
Both sides emphasized the importance of enhancing economic partnerships, promoting business-to-business engagement, and increasing collaboration in education and innovation. They also discussed regional and global developments, reaffirming their shared commitment to peace, stability, and multilateral cooperation.
The ministers acknowledged the valuable contribution of the Pakistani diaspora in Canada and agreed to further strengthen people-to-people contacts through cultural and educational exchanges.
Anand’s visit is expected to inject fresh momentum into Pakistan-Canada relations, paving the way for closer diplomatic and economic engagement in the years ahead.
