Iran Targets Bahrain and Kuwait as Power, Water Facilities Catch Fire in Latest Escalation

DUBAI: Iran launched a fresh wave of missile and drone attacks on Bahrain and Kuwait, with strikes reportedly targeting military-linked sites and critical infrastructure, further escalating tensions across the Gulf.

In Kuwait, officials said a power generation and water desalination plant was hit, triggering a fire and forcing several electricity generation units offline. Emergency teams were deployed to contain the blaze and begin repair work, while contingency plans were activated to maintain essential services.

Bahrain said its air defense systems intercepted multiple incoming missiles and drones. Iranian state media claimed the strikes targeted military-related facilities, including sites associated with U.S. forces stationed in the Gulf.

The attacks came after another round of U.S. strikes on Iranian targets, marking a sharp escalation in the ongoing conflict. Gulf countries remain on high alert as fears grow that the fighting could expand further, threatening regional security, energy infrastructure, and global shipping routes.
