ISLAMABAD: The federal government has increased Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG) prices by up to 34.6%, citing continued supply disruptions from Qatar that have affected fuel availability and procurement costs.
According to the latest notification, the revised RLNG rates will apply to various consumer categories, including industrial and commercial users. Officials said the price adjustment reflects higher import costs and changes in the international LNG market following reduced supplies from Qatar.
Energy experts believe the increase may raise production costs for industries that rely heavily on RLNG, while businesses are expected to review operational expenses in response to the higher fuel prices.
Authorities have stated that efforts are underway to ensure stable energy supplies and minimize the impact of global market fluctuations on Pakistan’s energy sector.
