Countries Condemn Israel’s Move to Appoint Envoy to Somaliland
Twelve countries, including Pakistan, have strongly condemned Israel’s reported decision to appoint a diplomatic representative to Somaliland, a self-declared region of Somalia.
According to a joint statement shared by the Foreign Office, the move was described as a “flagrant violation” of Somalia’s sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity.
The statement was issued by the foreign ministers of several countries, including Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Turkey, Indonesia, and others.
The countries reaffirmed their support for the internationally recognized government of Somalia and emphasized the importance of respecting its territorial boundaries.
They also warned that such unilateral diplomatic actions could undermine regional stability and violate principles of international law.
