Pakistan to Exit IMF Programme by Mid-2026: Rana Mashhood

Published:

Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan, Chairman of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme, has announced that Pakistan will exit the International Monetary Fund programme by June 2026. Addressing a diaspora gathering in London, he said the country is moving towards economic self-reliance and no longer expects IMF support next year. He credited fiscal discipline, structural reforms and rising workers’ remittances for restoring investor confidence. Mashhood added that a focus on exports, productivity and youth-led entrepreneurship will help strengthen foreign exchange reserves and end reliance on IMF bailouts.
