Karachi: Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has praised the Pakistan Navy following the seizure of more than 2,800 kilograms of narcotics during a counter-narcotics operation in the Arabian Sea.
Bilawal said the timely operation prevented a major attempt to smuggle narcotics through the sea and described the seizure as an important development in Pakistan’s efforts to combat drug trafficking.
He stressed the need for continued surveillance and action against organized trafficking networks and maritime smuggling routes, noting the broader risks associated with drug trafficking to young people and society.
Bilawal also commended the officers and personnel of the Pakistan Navy involved in the operation, praising their professionalism, vigilance and timely response.
The seizure was carried out by PNS Hunain and PNS Yarmook during maritime security operations in the Arabian Sea. The narcotics were reportedly valued at approximately $750 million in the international market.
The operation was also praised by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who commended the Pakistan Navy personnel involved.
