KARACHI: Gold prices in Pakistan increased on Wednesday, September 9, with the price of 24-karat gold rising by Rs800 per tola to Rs462,936, according to rates shared by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).

The price of 24-karat gold per 10 grams also increased by Rs686, reaching Rs396,893. The rise followed an improvement in international gold prices, with global gold trading around $4,404 per ounce.

Gold had declined by Rs1,000 per tola in the previous session, when the rate stood at Rs462,136. Wednesday’s increase therefore reflects a partial recovery in the domestic bullion market.

Silver prices also moved higher in Pakistan. The price of 24-karat silver increased by Rs72 per tola to Rs7,141, while its 10-gram rate rose by Rs62 to Rs6,122.

Internationally, gold prices have remained sensitive to movements in the US dollar, geopolitical developments and expectations surrounding US interest rates. Investors are also watching upcoming US inflation data for further indications about the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy outlook.

The latest movement keeps gold prices in Pakistan near record-high levels, highlighting continued volatility in the domestic and international precious metals markets.
