KARACHI: Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah has announced a one-hour reduction in school timings across the province, with the revised schedule taking effect from September 8.
The decision comes after the province had extended school hours by one hour to compensate for academic losses caused by floods and other disruptions. The minister said the additional hour had created difficulties for students, prompting the government to withdraw the extension.
During an event in Karachi, Shah also highlighted wider challenges facing Sindh’s education sector, including inadequate school infrastructure and the difficulties students face during extreme heat.
The revised timings are intended to provide relief to students and staff while the provincial government continues to address infrastructure and education-related challenges.
