KARACHI: A court has issued a stay order against police action involving protesters who demonstrated over the murder case of Mir Raza.
The court directed Ferozabad Police not to take further action against the petitioners in connection with the case. Advocate Wajeeh Nadeem told the court that the protesters were peacefully demonstrating and argued that registering a case against peaceful protesters was a mala fide act.
According to the defence lawyer, Ferozabad Police had registered a case against 20 young people, while eight petitioners have already secured bail from the court.
Justice Saleem Jaiser directed police not to nominate any additional individuals in the case.
The court adjourned further proceedings until October 9.
