RAWALPINDI: Pakistan’s security forces successfully foiled a suicide attack on a checkpost in South Waziristan, killing four terrorists, including a suicide bomber, during a swift counterterrorism operation, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.
According to the military’s media wing, the terrorists attempted to storm a security checkpost before security personnel responded immediately, preventing the attackers from reaching their target. The operation resulted in the elimination of all four militants, effectively averting what could have been a major terrorist attack.
ISPR praised the vigilance and professionalism of the troops, stating that the timely response prevented significant casualties and safeguarded both security personnel and nearby civilians. A sanitization operation was launched in the surrounding area to ensure no remaining militants were present.
The military reaffirmed that Pakistan’s security forces remain committed to eliminating terrorism and ensuring peace across the country. Officials said operations against terrorist elements will continue until all threats are neutralized.
