Donald Trump says another round of U.S.–Iran talks could take place in Islamabad by the end of this week as both sides move closer to a possible breakthrough on Iran’s nuclear programmed.
According to reports, the United States has offered Iran a 20-year moratorium on uranium enrichment in exchange for the lifting of sanctions and other concessions. Vice President JD Vance described the proposal as Washington’s “final and best offer” during recent talks in Islamabad.
Iran has not yet accepted the proposal and is reportedly consulting its leadership before making a final decision. However, sources say Tehran is now leaning toward accepting the deal, raising hopes that another round of talks in Pakistan could lead to a major agreement.
While the Iranian president has also responded positively regarding the Islamabad talks, stating that the door for negotiations remains open, there is a need for the United States to show some flexibility. Earlier, negative propaganda had been circulating from India and Israel concerning the Islamabad talks.
However, after the completion of the first round, JD Vance and the Iranian delegation also described the Islamabad talks as positive, adding that most matters are nearly settled, and only a degree of flexibility is required.
Pakistan is once again emerging as a key diplomatic platform, with Islamabad hosting critical negotiations that could shape the future of U.S.–Iran relations and regional stability.
