Lahore Qalandars captain Shaheen Shah Afridi has backed the government’s decision regarding limited fan attendance in the Pakistan Super League, saying that while crowds will be missed, national decisions must be respected.
In an exclusive interview, Afridi said Lahore Qalandars are fully prepared for PSL 11, with a productive training camp and strong squad depth, including experienced players like Sikandar Raza and young emerging talent.
He highlighted Fakhar Zaman as the backbone of the team, praising his consistency over nearly a decade. Afridi also lauded Haris Rauf for his match-winning abilities across all departments.
Despite Dasun Shanaka opting for the IPL, Afridi said the team combination remains strong, with a balanced lineup and retained core players.
Looking ahead, Afridi emphasized teamwork, discipline, and nurturing young players for Pakistan’s future, while maintaining that his focus remains on performance, not personal milestones.
He also addressed criticism of his bowling, stating his passion and aggression continue to drive him to deliver for Pakistan—no matter the opponent.
